While neighboring state of Uttarakhand is experiencing heavy rains and flood condition, the North India is mostly dry. Rainfall remain absent in most parts of Himachal for last few days. The monsoon rains has failed to cover for the rain deficit in the state. Himachal is facing a rain deficit of 24 percent and have received only 228 mm of rain against 300.1 mm. However, the Met Department now predicts change in weather condition and hope to receive ample monsoon rains between July 23 and 25. The state also expects that these rains would curb the deficit.
