Governor Devvrat plants sapling urging people to preserve greenery

Acharya DevvratIn a plantation programme organized by State Red Cross Society in collaboration with the Rajhana panchayat and with the help of the Forest department, Himachal Pradesh Governor Acharya Devvrat today planted a sapling at village Rajhana near Shimla town along with the school children. Speaking on the occasion, the Governor said that trees contribute to the environment by providing oxygen, improving air quality, preserving soil and supporting wildlife. Every individual, he said, should participate in plantation activities to expand the greenery of the area adding that more focus would be given on organizing plantation programs in the years to come so that more and more people could be associated with it.
